First things first: you can expect to feel welcome. Our studio is small, relaxed, and personal, so your first class is an opportunity to get comfortable, ask questions, and get to know your instructor. When you arrive, you'll head into the lobby, take off your shoes, and put on your grip socks. We do require grip socks for equipment classes, and we have a beautiful selection available for purchase at the front counter. If you're not sure Pilates is for you yet, we also have a small collection of secondhand loaners you're welcome to use for your first visit. For mat classes, you're welcome to practice barefoot if you prefer. Please don't wear regular socks in the studio—they can be slippery and aren't safe. Then you'll head into the studio and find a spot that feels comfortable. Our reformer classes are intentionally small so there's plenty of room for individual attention. In a beginner class, expect thoughtful instruction, a few questions from your instructor, and plenty of opportunities to modify exercises based on what your body needs. We'll check in with you along the way so you feel comfortable and supported. Most of all, expect an easygoing, lighthearted atmosphere. You don't need to know exactly what you're doing when you walk through the door. That's what your instructor is there for.And if you're joining us for an intermediate class, you can expect a little more energy and a faster pace — along with plenty of laughter, encouragement, and fun. Before you arriveWe recommend arriving no more than 10 minutes early for your first class. This gives you time to get your grip socks on, locate the bathrooms, and settle into the studio without feeling rushed.Once you're in the studio, you'll likely see a basket of myofascial release balls. Feel free to grab one and start rolling out your feet while you wait for class to begin. It's a simple way to arrive, settle in, and get a little curious about how your body is feeling that day.Come as you are. We'll take it from there.
